About the Site

This is a redesign of the original GDAD site, whose launch coincided with the opening of the Wilde Years Exhibition on October 19, 2009. The main purpose of the site is to showcase the quality, breadth and diversity of student work that the Department of Advertising & Graphic Design engenders.

Towards this end the site makes use of an enterprise-grade digital asset management system, called MediaBeacon, and a custom-built metadata schema, which combine to power the Student Work Gallery. The rest of the site's content resides on a Drupal CMS and is served, like most other sites, using a combination of HTML5, CSS and JQuery.

Typographically, the site uses Typekit to implement three different typefaces: Brevia, Museo Slab and Helvetica. Brevia appears throughout the site while the latter two fonts only appear at random on the homepage (unless you change it).

This site fully supports the following browsers: Safari 5+, Firefox 3.5+ and Internet Explorer 8+. The minimum supported screen size is 1280x800.
